PPN – Plant Parasitic Nematode – Usually refers to either Ectoparasitic or Endoparasitic species.

Ectoparasitic nematodes live in the soil and attack the grass plants roots or stem from the outside.

Endoparasitic nematodes usually live in structures attached to the plant roots like galls or cysts and once they hatch out they attack the plant root from the inside. These are the hardest nematodes to control in a turf management situation.
